The gas that the cauldron emits is deadly to the living, but empowers Scourge. As with all Scourge creations, it feeds off of death and grows stronger the longer it feeds. Take these crusader skulls and drop them into the cauldron. You will be quite happy with the results."<br /><br />It doesn't make sense that the Scourge would raise something as living when you've got this gas in the air that's meant to make their undead units stronger.
